Kingfisher Inn

Went there for 4 days and 4 nights to spend time with my family and especially my brother that was diagnosed with a glioblastoma tumor (GBM) and we had a blast. It was the last vacation I got to spend with my brother and he ended up passing away close to 6 months later. We got to go on the peer each morning and the view the sunrise and it was amazing. It was one of the best memories with my family and my brother. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone. Thanks King Fishermen for all the memories! We Love You guys!

Room was clean and well-stocked. Housekeeping couldn't have been more accommodating. I had more than enough linens; re-stocked daily! Kitchen was fully equipped...they even provided dishwasher pods! I went out and got my own toilet tissue and Kleenex as theirs was 1-ply. They give you 3 keyless cards and remind you to keep one in the car...in case if emergencies. Parking spaces are well-sized. A GREAT place!!

For the first 3 nights we stayed in room 505 with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms everything was clean, the sheets and towels appeared to be new and the bathrooms appeared to have just been remodeled. The kitchen could have been remodeled to make this a 5 star review but it in no way affected our stay negatively as well as there is only one parking spot per room so others within your group have to park along the street or across the street which they can’t help their parking lot is so small just thought it was worth a mention. For our last night we moved to room 504 because it was only two of us staying for one more night, they made it super easy and convenient for us to move right next door and even let us hang around the room we were in until the next one was ready. Attached are a couple of pictures from room 504 as we were leaving so don’t pay attention to things not being as tidy as when we arrived.

We have our time share here, we're here every year and we love this place. The staff is so nice and friendly rooms kept clean, they also rent nightly. 3 night min. during peak season. Nightly in the off season. The perks to staying here is the coupons and a family fishing pass for twenty dollars to fish off the Pier at Garden City which is right next door. WOW.

Came for bike weekend. Walking distance to several bars and restaurants. Tastefully updated bathroom. Very nice granite and marble tile. Super clean. Kitchen well stocked and nice bed linens. Comfy bed. Excellent view from balcony area. You can’t go out on balcony. Overall very Nice amenities. We will stay again.

We have always enjoyed staying in the penthouse for years when we would come to Garden City. I understand a little price increase each year but this year is ridiculous! They want $4,000 a week for non peak season and $5,000 a week for peak season. They are pricing themselves out of loyal long time customers. We found a room at The Seawatch right across the street for $1200 a week. We don’t have a penthouse view of the ocean and the pier but we are just a few minutes walk away and we still get to visit all of our favorite restaurants that we enjoy. The rooms look much nicer and are updated too. Goodby Kingfisher. It was fun until you got too greedy.

Staying here now. Convenient location, the staff is friendly. However it is pretty dated, the balcony is so small you can’t even stand on it. Also I have called twice about our room smelling like cigarette smoke and nothing has been said or done. I am pregnant and it is the last thing I want to be smelling. Besides the fact this is supposed to be a smoke free building…

This place is so close to the beach that I could throw a stone off my balcony and it would land in the ocean. The Garden City Beach pier is next door and you can go fishing off the pier. You can rent rod and reels and buy bait there. They also have a bar that plays live music at the end of the pier. The kingfisher has a nice swimming pool and pool deck. The rooms are nothing fancy, but had full kitchen, oven/stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. We were able to cook a few home-cooked meals during our stay, keeping a few extra dollars in our pockets. This was the perfect spot to avoid the traffic and hustle of Myrtle Beach.

My family has been staying here every year for around 40 years! Staff has always been pleasant. Pool area hasn't been updated in years, but it's on the water, connected to the Ice Cream Shop and next to the Pier! Location is perfect. Price point isn't bad. I love the tradition.

Perfect beach side location. Garden City pier is next door, a 2min walk to get there. Sams Corner diner stays open late and serves all the comfort food you can think of. Next to that is a large arcade for the kids and a few other small gift shops. There is also a grocery store in walking distance. A few miles south is Murrells Inlet, a nice marsh walk with many nice restaurants with water view along the walk. Of course north is Myrtle Beach if you are into that scene. The room we stayed in had a kitchen with full size range and oven, full size fridge (with ice maker), and dining table. Its not that modern, but not bad for a place built in the early 1970s. If you expect Vegas style glitz, this isn't that place, but is perfect for a family beach get-away.
